Midea Aircon Blinking Light Patterns

Use this Midea blink table to match patterns and narrow next checks before booking.

Before you use this tool

This is a blink-pattern guidance table, not a model-exact diagnosis. Pattern meaning can vary by controller and series. If your controller shows a direct code (for example `CH21`, `U4`, `E6`), use the error-code guide for a faster match.

Safety warning

Stop using the unit and contact a technician if the breaker trips repeatedly, you smell burning, see sparks, hear loud electrical buzzing, or water is leaking from places it normally should not.

Midea blink guide

Includes common SG residential blinking-light patterns with what they usually indicate and typical causes. Not every blink pattern maps to an error code.

Blink count: 1

Blink count: 2

Operation lamp flashes 2 times repeatedly while timer lamp remains off

Typical causes

  • Indoor-outdoor communication loss
  • Interconnection wiring issue
  • Indoor or outdoor PCB communication fault
Blink count: 5

Operation lamp flashes 5 times repeatedly while timer lamp remains off

Typical causes

  • T1 sensor open/short
  • Sensor wiring/connector fault
  • Indoor PCB sensor-input issue
Blink count: 6

Operation lamp flashes 6 times repeatedly while timer lamp remains off

Typical causes

  • T2 sensor open/short
  • Sensor harness fault
  • Indoor control-board input fault
Blink count: 8

Outdoor module LED5 stays ON while LED4 flashes 8 times, pauses ~1 second, then repeats

Typical causes

  • Inverter module protection trigger
  • Outdoor power-stage stress
  • Drive module abnormality
Blink count: 9

Outdoor module LED5 stays ON while LED4 flashes 9 times, pauses ~1 second, then repeats

Typical causes

  • DC bus low-voltage event
  • Power supply instability
  • Outdoor drive/power circuit fault
Blink count: 10

Outdoor module LED5 stays ON while LED4 flashes 10 times, pauses ~1 second, then repeats

Typical causes

  • DC bus over-voltage event
  • Power surge condition
  • Outdoor power-stage abnormality
Blink count: 12

Outdoor module LED5 stays ON while LED4 flashes 12 times, pauses ~1 second, then repeats

Typical causes
