Aircon Site Survey in Singapore
Before we quote an installation, we need to see the space. A site survey determines the right system type, capacity, piping route, and electrical requirements — so the quote reflects what the job actually involves, not a template estimate.
Planning and Sizing
A survey is required before any installation quote. These are the most common situations.
First-time installation
property has never had aircon, so everything is planned from scratch
System replacement with a different type or capacity
piping and electrical may need changes
Renovation integration
trunking, false ceiling, or concealed piping for the new layout
Adding units to new rooms
condenser capacity and circuit load need checking
New BTO or condo move-in
developer handover may not include aircon
Unsure which system type fits
wall-mount, cassette, ducted, or multi-split each suit different spaces
How a Site Survey Works
The survey covers every factor that affects system selection, placement, and cost.
Room sizing
Floor area, ceiling height, window exposure, and heat load from each room — used to calculate the BTU capacity each indoor unit needs.
Condenser placement
Where the outdoor unit goes, how it is mounted, and whether the location has adequate ventilation and drainage. HDB ledges, condo brackets, and landed setups each have different constraints.
Piping route
The path between indoor and outdoor units — distance, number of bends, wall penetrations, and whether trunking or concealment is needed. Longer or more complex routes cost more.
Electrical capacity
Whether a dedicated circuit exists, the DB board has spare capacity, and the wiring gauge supports the load. Older properties often need electrical upgrades.
Drainage path
Where condensate water goes — gravity drain to a floor trap, or pump-assisted discharge for units below the drain point. Poor drainage is the top cause of indoor leaks.
What to Expect During the Visit
The survey takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the number of rooms and complexity of the layout. We cover all areas of Singapore, Monday to Saturday.
- 01
Describe what you need
Tell us how many rooms need aircon, any layout changes planned, and whether you have a brand or system type in mind. This helps us prepare.
- 02
We assess the space
Room measurements, ceiling check, window orientation, wall construction, electrical panel review, outdoor unit placement options, and piping route mapping.
- 03
We explain the options
System type, capacity per room, brand options, piping approach, and anything that affects cost — like electrical upgrades or trunking. No jargon, just clear trade-offs.
- 04
You receive a quote
A detailed quote covering units, piping, electrical, brackets, labour, and any extras. The $30 survey fee is waived if you proceed with the installation.
If you go ahead with the work
We order the correct units and schedule installation on a date that works for you. For renovation projects, we coordinate timing with your contractor so pipe runs and electrical go in at the right stage.
What Affects the Quote
The survey fee is straightforward, but the resulting installation quote varies based on site conditions.
Number of rooms and units
more units mean more piping, electrical, and labour
Piping distance and routing
longer runs and concealment add cost
Electrical upgrades
older properties may require dedicated circuits or DB board work
Property type and access
HDB, condo, and landed each have different constraints and permits
Site Survey vs On-Site Inspection
A survey plans future work. An inspection diagnoses existing problems. Both involve a home visit, but for different reasons.
Site survey
Plans a new installation or system change. We measure, assess, recommend, and quote. $30/visit — waived if you proceed with the installation.
On-site inspection
Diagnoses a fault in an existing system. We inspect, test, and explain findings before quoting any repair. $30/visit — waived if you proceed with the repair.
What a Site Survey Does Not Include
The survey scopes the installation — it does not fix existing problems or service existing units.
Not a diagnostic visit
if your existing aircon has a fault, book an on-site inspection instead
No servicing or cleaning
maintenance of existing units is a separate booking
No structural work
we advise on wall hacking or ledge requirements, you arrange with your contractor
No same-day installation
installation is scheduled and quoted separately after you approve
