Aircon Piping & Trunking Work in Singapore
Most piping jobs come from renovation work or correcting poor previous installations. The scope covers copper refrigerant lines, drainage, insulation, and trunking. We quote after seeing the site.
Planning and Sizing
The scope depends on whether piping is being installed new, extended, replaced, or rerouted.
New pipe runs
For fresh installations or layout changes where no existing piping exists. Includes copper refrigerant lines, drain piping, insulation, and trunking. Pressure-tested before connecting.
Pipe extension or reroute
When the unit moves further from the condenser, or the route needs to change after renovation. We assess whether the existing piping can be extended or needs full replacement.
Pipe replacement
For corroded, leaking, or insulation-damaged pipes. We check the full run — partial patching often leads to repeat issues if the rest of the line is deteriorating.
Drainage replumbing
Correcting drainage slope, rerouting to a new discharge point, or fixing condensate backup caused by incorrect gradient. Common after floor level changes during renovation.
Trunking and concealment
New trunking installation, extension, or replacement to match new wall finishes. Includes routing around cabinetry, false ceilings, and other post-renovation constraints.
Common renovation scenarios
Most piping work happens during renovation. These are the situations we see most often.
Wall moved or removed
Pipe reroute to the new indoor unit position, with possible drainage replumb.
Aircon ledge or discharge point changed
Pipe extension, new bracket, and outdoor repositioning.
Old pipes reused but undersized for new unit
Full pipe replacement with the correct diameter.
Floor level changed
Drainage slope correction to prevent condensate backup.
Trunking clashes with new ceiling or cabinetry
Trunking reroute or concealment work.
Previous contractor left work unfinished
Assessment and correction of pipe, drainage, or electrical scope.
How Piping and Trunking Work Is Done
Every piping job follows the same sequence: assess, plan, execute, and test.
Site visit
assess distances, wall types, and existing pipe condition before quoting
Route planning
piping path mapped around renovation constraints, trunking, and drainage gradient
Pipe work
copper lines cut, flared, brazed, and pressure-tested before connecting
Commissioning
insulation wrapped, trunking fitted, system vacuumed, charged, and tested
What Affects the Quote
No two piping jobs cost the same. These factors drive the scope.
Distance between units
Longer runs need more piping, insulation, and labour.
Wall type
Concrete coring costs more than partition work.
Pipe routing complexity
Bends, concealment, and trunking add time and material.
Existing piping condition
Reusable pipes reduce cost — corroded pipes need replacing.
Access constraints
High floors, tight spaces, or scaffolding add to labour.
Reinstatement
Patching old pipe exits and trunking marks.
Piping Work vs Electrical Work
Aircon-side electrical work — dedicated circuits, isolator switches, cable upgrades, and wiring fault repair — is covered on its own page.
Dedicated circuit
required for new installations or system upgrades
Isolator switch
installed at the outdoor unit for safe disconnection
Cable upgrade
needed when existing wiring is undersized for the load
Wiring fault repair
diagnosis and fix for tripping, shorts, or voltage issues
