Aircon restarts by itself after power fluctuation

After a power change, some systems restart by design. If restart keeps repeating, it can point to a power or control issue.

Common causes

These are likely causes for this symptom. Compare them with what you are seeing now to narrow it down. This is indicative only. To confirm the problem, contact us.

01. Normal auto-restart behavior

Low risk

Many systems resume the last state after a brief power cut. One restart can be normal.

  • Restart happened shortly after power returned.
  • System then runs normally without repeat cycle.
  • No warning lights or trip behavior appears.

Solution: We confirm if the pattern matches normal auto-restart before moving to fault checks.

Remarks: A single stable restart should not be read as a part failure.

02. Unstable power path causing repeat reboot

Book a check

If power stays unstable, the unit can reboot again and again. It feels random but follows power changes.

  • Unit restarts more than once after power event.
  • Run periods are short and uneven.
  • More than one unit may show the same pattern.

Solution: We verify power stability and protection behavior before concluding part failure.

Remarks: Changing control parts before power checks can leave the same issue.

03. Control board stays unstable after event

Book a check

A power event can expose a weak control path. The unit may keep rebooting even after power is stable.

  • Restart loop continues long after power return.
  • Command response becomes uneven.
  • Flashing lights or odd run sequence can appear.

Solution: We test control stability and run sequence, then isolate the failing path before any part recommendation.

Remarks: Repeated manual resets can hide the first event pattern needed for clean diagnosis.

Other possible causes

A brief one-off restart after power return is expected on many systems with auto-restart enabled.

How to tell

  • Restart happens once after power returns.
  • Cooling remains stable afterward.
  • No warning lights, odor, or trip pattern appears.

If restart cycles repeat, move from normal behavior assumption to fault diagnosis.

Before you contact us (optional)

Just observe, no disassembly required:

  • Restart count: one restart only / restarts repeatedly / not sure
  • Run stability: stable after restart / short unstable runs / cuts out often
  • Other units: only one unit affected / multiple units affected / not observed
  • Indicators: no warning lights / flashing light / error code shown

Stop using the unit if you notice these

Self-restart is urgent only when electrical risk signs appear.

  • Burning or electrical smell
  • Breaker tripping repeatedly
  • Sparking or harsh electrical noise
