Aircon Louvre Vane Linkage

The louvre vane linkage connects the swing motor to the indoor flap. If the linkage slips, cracks, or jams, the flap may stop moving even when the motor still works.

What This Part Does

The vane linkage transfers movement from the swing motor to the flap. It helps the flap move in a controlled path.

Linkage parts are small, but they affect how smoothly the flap moves. A worn linkage can cause slip or uneven movement.

If the linkage jams or breaks, the flap may stop moving while the motor still tries to run.

How You Would Notice

The flap may move partly, then stop. Some users hear light clicking or tapping from the flap area.

You may also see the flap sit crooked or move unevenly during swing mode.

This can look like a bad swing motor, but the movement path is the key clue.

  • Flap moves unevenly or only part way
  • Clicking from flap area during movement
  • Flap looks misaligned or crooked

It Might Not Be The Louvre Vane Linkage

A failed swing motor can also stop flap movement. The linkage may be fine but the motor is not driving it.

Command-path issues can stop swing mode from activating at all. Then no movement happens even with good linkage.

We check the command, motor, and linkage in order before naming the failed part.

How We Check

We observe flap movement during swing commands and listen for motor and linkage sounds.

Then we inspect the linkage path for loose joints, broken tabs, and jam points.

If the linkage path is normal, we move back to swing motor and control checks.

We recommend linkage repair only when the movement fault is traced to the linkage itself.

What We Find And What Happens Next

Flap-movement faults usually narrow down to linkage damage, swing-motor fault, command issue, or settings confusion.

About The Repair

Linkage repair is usually a small mechanical indoor-unit repair. The important part is confirming the linkage is the real cause.

A linkage repair will not help if the swing motor or control path is faulty.

We confirm smooth movement after repair before sign-off.

After Replacement

The flap should move evenly and sit correctly. Clicking from linkage slip should stop.

If movement stays erratic, the swing motor or control path may still need diagnosis.

We retest swing mode and flap position after repair.

When We Tell You To Wait

If cooling is normal and only swing movement is slightly uneven, planned repair may be reasonable.

If the flap jams and makes repeated noise every cycle, earlier repair helps avoid more wear.

We will tell you when the linkage issue is cosmetic versus likely to worsen.
