Aircon Removal & Disposal in Singapore

Removal involves refrigerant recovery, safe disconnection of electrical and drainage, dismounting, and disposal. Whether the system is end-of-life, being demolished for renovation, or replaced entirely, we handle the full scope.

Planning and Sizing

The scope of a removal depends on the reason, the system type, and whether indoor, outdoor, or both units need to come out.

  • Renovation demolition

Walls being hacked, ceiling being redone, or the layout is changing completely. The existing system needs to come out before construction begins.

  • System end-of-life

The unit is beyond repair or no longer cost-effective to maintain. Full removal clears the way for a replacement or a decision to go without.

  • Switching to a different system

Moving from an older system to a completely different configuration — different capacity, different type, or different mounting points. The old system is removed entirely.

  • Property handover

Landlords or sellers removing the aircon before handing over the property. Includes reinstatement to restore the space to a clean state.

Indoor vs Outdoor Removal

Sometimes only one side needs to come out. Here is what each involves.

  • Indoor unit removal

Wall-mounted units: straightforward dismount. Cassette and ducted: ceiling panel work required. Piping capped at the wall exit, drain pan and drain pipe disconnected.

  • Outdoor unit removal

Ledge or bracket: may need MCST approval in condos. Pipes disconnected at the unit — removed or left in wall. Outdoor isolator and power supply disconnected.

How Removal Works

A full removal covers both the indoor and outdoor units, plus everything connecting them.

  1. 01

    Refrigerant recovery

Refrigerant is pumped back into the outdoor unit and recovered safely. This must be done before any disconnection to prevent gas release.

  2. 02

    Disconnection

Electrical cables, refrigerant lines, and drainage pipes are disconnected from both indoor and outdoor units.

  3. 03

    Dismounting

Indoor unit removed from the wall bracket. Outdoor unit removed from the ledge, wall bracket, or platform. Brackets are unbolted.

  4. 04

    Pipe and trunking removal

Refrigerant pipes, drainage lines, and trunking are removed or capped depending on whether reinstatement is needed.

  5. 05

    Disposal

Units and materials are removed from the premises and disposed of responsibly. We handle the logistics — you do not need to arrange anything separately.

If you go ahead with the work

We schedule around your renovation timeline so the removal is done before hacking or ceiling work begins. For multi-unit jobs, we confirm access logistics and disposal arrangements upfront. If reinstatement is included, patching and paint touch-up happen on the same visit or a follow-up within the week.

Reinstatement Options

After removal, you may want the area cleaned up. Reinstatement scope depends on how much restoration you need.

  • Basic

Pipe holes capped, bracket holes filled, trunking removed.

  • Standard

Basic scope plus wall patching and paint touch-up to match the existing finish.

  • Full

Standard scope plus ceiling and wall restoration — needed if a ducted or cassette system was removed.

What Affects the Quote

The quote depends on scope, access, and reinstatement needs.

  • Number of units

each indoor and outdoor unit adds to labour and disposal

  • System type

wall-mount, cassette, and ducted systems have different dismounting complexity

  • Access constraints

high-floor condenser brackets or tight ceiling voids add labour

  • Reinstatement scope

from basic hole-capping to full wall and ceiling restoration

Removal vs Relocation

The choice depends on the unit's condition and your plans for the space.

  • Removal is permanent

the unit is disconnected, dismounted, and disposed of

  • Relocation keeps the unit and reinstalls it at a new position or property

  • If the unit is beyond its useful life or you are switching to a different system, removal is the cleaner option

  • If the unit is still in good condition and you need it elsewhere, relocation saves the cost of a new unit
